Last weekend Raf and I went for a very short hike to Zig Zag falls up near Government Camp. I wanted to check out the little alpine village of Government Camp because I’ve never been there. I’ve been going to a meditation group once a week. I’ve been going for about 2 months now and I love it. I think it has kind of changed my life. I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been interested in Zen and have been reading and learning about it for a couple of years. The only problem is that I hadn’t taken the time to develop a zazen practice. And that is kind of the whole point of Zen. So anyway, one of my really wonderful new co-workers invited me to a meditation group she goes to on Wednesday nights. I am really shy about meeting new people and it, generally, takes me a long time to work up the courage to go to things like these…

I’ve been really into needle felting lately. I’ve wanted to do something special for my mom as a memorial for her dogs, Squeaker and Sam who died this past year. This might seem kind of weird and morbid to you, and I kind of thought so at first too. But my mom had given me some of Sam’s fur and I had quite a bit of it saved up. I was planning on spinning it up into yarn. She also clipped some of his fur from him when he died so I had some of that too. I thought it would be kind of nice to use some of his fur in the little sculpture of him. So I did. And it didn’t feel…

It’s been awhile since I posted! I guess I needed a blogging break. A lot’s been going on since I was last seen here. I went to Spokane for Hoopfest last weekend, got a tattoo when I got back home, and then got sick.
Here’s a picture I took in Spokane while I was walking to Hoopfest downtown. It was taken at Gonzaga University. The wind was blowing and it blew the clouds into this crazy pattern.
