I can’t resist cake.

3:48pm
Scouring the intertubes for blog post ideas. Found this one! I will try it.

4:38 pm
Ordering books for the collection and worrying about the anti-Christian-god blog post I just wrote and published.

5:32
Placed an order with Amazon for children’s music CD’s. Screwed up the order. sigh. do I fix it now? Or do I go home and do it tomorrow. I think I will go home. Hopefully I won’t forget to fix it.

5:55
Was entertained by the following songs on my walk home (my Spotify set on random):
Automatic by the Jesus and Mary Chain
Lips Like Sugar by Echo And The Bunnymen
Space Age Love Song by A Flock Of Seagulls

6:48
Taco salad for dinner.

7:33
Just came across this beautiful Kurt Vonnegut quote I’d never seen before:

“The arts are not a way of making a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”

Now my heart feels all warm and fuzzy. Also, I will be spending the bulk of my evening perusing Zen Pencils. Fantastic!!

8:02
Watching the documentary, “Vegucated.” They showed a scene that portrayed animals suffering in a factory farm. It raises lots of questions for me. If I claim to be equal to all creatures how can I eat meat and, thus, support this horror show?

8:49
Ignoring my sore, scratchy throat. Hoping it’s just allergies and Benedryl will take care of it.

9:07
Tonight’s bedtime read: Delirium by Lauren Oliver. About a futuristic world in which love is a diagnosable disease. Really good so far!

9:22
Benedryl is taking effect. Sweet dreams. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

5:30 am
Need coffee. Now.

6:29 am
My favorite time of the day. All is quiet with my coffee and knitting.

7:30 am

drinking a smoothie in preparation for my run. Interval training today.

8:36 am
Tempo runs make me crabby. But I feel good when I am done. A bit of an ego boost to see faster running time.

9:32 am
Out the door to work I go.

10:07 am
songs that entertained me on my walk to work:
Mr Bobby by Manu Chao
Pablo Picasso by Modern Lovers
Pin by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Story Of My Life by Social Distortion

10:35
Pet peeve: when parents or guardians leave their toddler to hang out in the children’s area alone while they go use the computer.

11:11
Make a wish.

11:45
Helped a woman find an obituary for her dad who died in 1971. She said she has been looking for it for a long time. I was able to use my Multnomah library card to log into the older issues of the Oregonian and find it for her! (no microfilm required!) She teared up when we found it. So glad I could make her happy. These little things are what make me love being a librarian. 🙂

12:45 pm
Chocolate cake.

1:28
Playing around with themes for my other photography blog. I need to figure out what to do with this blog. I was doing a project where I took a photo everyday at 8:50 but got bored. I like having the space as a place to try out projects. Nobody ever looks at it so I can post crap without any self consciousnesses.

1:42
Pet peeve #2: when people ask me, “do you work here?” No I am just sitting here at the desk with a sign that says “Reference” on it and dressed up in professional attire because I’m nuts. I’m just pretending I work here.

2:22
Decided I need to update my blog categories. Tidy things up a bit.

3:38
I get to go home! Hallelujah!

    1. Love that quote, too! Vonnegut is the best. Breakfast of Champions practically changed my life. It is the book that steered me toward being a literature major in college.
