Here is my first attempt at image transfer. I took a picture of my Buddha statuette with the Holgaroid and transfered the negative to some very rough watercolor paper. The results are less than perfect. But I kind of like it. I am going to make something artsy with it.

Dutch Paintings The type of art I appreciate most is the the art that speaks me at a particular moment. Sometimes I can’t verbalize why I like a particular piece. Most of the time I can’t, actually. It occurs to me that I didn’t blog about my latest tattoo. I got this one at the end of June. It was a last minute kind of thing. I stopped by the tattoo shop raf works at and he was bummed because his appointment didn’t show up. So he asked me if I wanted a tattoo and he showed me the stencil he had all drawn up of this and I said, “sure!” I love it. It’s very pretty, I think. I have it on my upper leg and so it will never be seen by anyone unless I am wearing a bikini which is an extremely rare occurrence. Actually I can’t even remember the last time I wore a bikini. I’ve been feeling a little bit uncreative lately and decided to read through the book, “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. One of the things that she prescribes is Morning Pages, which I have been doing, via 750words.com. If you want to get in the habit of writing everyday this is an excellent site, by the way. Another thing that is prescribed in the book are “Artist Dates.” This is when you do something creative each week. It can be anything you want, but it just has to nurture your right brain. Why hello there! I didn’t mean for so much time to go by before I blogged. The past two weeks kind of creeped up on me and whizzed by. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
