High-res version
Interesting week. Last night I had the delight of listening to Sherman Alexie speak. he read the last chapter of “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian” and it was amazing. It was especially cool to see so many high school students at the talk. And many of them were boys! High School boys excited about a book! It was awesome!
Flowers!, originally uploaded by CraftyMoni. We are getting some serious snow today. It’s “I have to put on my snow boots” kind of snow. It’s like a blizzard out there right now. And it sucks. I had a glimpse of Spring on my way home from work a few days ago this week. It was raining and I walked by a house where I saw these beautiful crocuses growing. It was so nice to see flowers and color again after such a long winter. So much for that.

Ugh. I’ve had a hell of a week. There was an unexpected death in my family on Sunday. I wasn’t really close to this person but the tragedy of it has left me feeling really sad. Anyway, my Dad and Step-mom didn’t know what to do with all of the flower arrangements so I ended up with one and two plants to bring home. This one is very pretty. It is cheering me up the tiniest bit.

There are these gorgeous blue and yellow flowers growing everywhere lately. I think the blue ones are Lupines, but I’m nut sure. I think it’s so incredible how the colors in nature automatically look good together no matter what.
