Civil War. By Guns n Roses. My big bother pointed this one out to me. Great song. And very appropriate.
Masters of War. By Pearl Jam. This song gives me goosebumps. Pearl Jam covers this Dylan song very well.
Mosh. By Eminem. This has to go on this playlist.
Gods Love. By Bad Religion. This song is about how our leaders do all of these horrible things in the name of God.
Eminence Front. By The Who. Randi Rhodes played this song on her show awhile back and pointed out how the lyrics depict the Bush Admin. The spirit of the lyrics, I should say. They are putting on a front, you know? Great song.
World Gone Wrong. By Bob Dylan. I put this song on the playlist primarily because of the title. And it’s Bob Dylan.
(Sittin on) the dock of the bay. By Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. I heard this song last week performed on our local access station by a local blues band. Thier rendition of this song was so friggen fantastic. As I was listening to it I came to the realization that this song is not a happy-go-lucky tune at all. In fact, it’s more about feeling totally and utterly hopeless, lonely, and 2000 miles away from your home, to boot. I was kind of thinking that I could relate to this song in many ways. And I wondered if many people who move to the Bay Area feel this way. I mean, there was a song written about it. It doesn’t have anything to do with the Bush Admin or the the election. It has more to do with the utter hoplessness that I feel right now. Willie and Waylon capture ths feeling in thier cover.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams. By Green Day Again, more of an utter hopelessness kind of thing. It’s a really, really good song, too.
Rockin in the Free World.By Neil Young. This was featured on F911’s soundtrack.
Who’s gonna save us. By the Living End. This was written with the current political climate in mind.
The Revolution Starts Now. By Steve Earle. Stever Earle is an Air America Radio talk show host.
In Tennessee. By the George W. Bush Singers. This playlist wouldn’t be complete without the George W. Singers.
