Done and done. It curls in like a sonofabitch. I was tempted to frog and reknit in a pattern that would not curl, but I’m forcing myself not to.
Pattern: Simplest of all mobius scarves from 1st Treasury of Magical Knitting by Cat Bordhi.
Yarn: Noro Silk Garden. A tiny bit over one ball.
Needles: Denise size 8. I connected two cables together to get a 40″ cable.
Started: November 6th 2006.
Finished: November 11th, 2006.
I don’t recommend using the Denise Needles for this. I would go out and buy a long 47″ Addi Turbo circular needle if I were to do it all over again. I had a difficult time with the stitches flowing over the cable. I was constantly fighting them and pushing them to the other side.
I think I would also like a pattern that would not cause it to curl so much. My friend at work knit three rows and purled three rows so that It ended up in a kind of horizontal ribbing pattern. I think I would have liked that better. But this works for me. I like that I can wrap it around my head, if need be.
I have enough yarn to make myself a pair of flip top mittens to match. Yay! Stay tuned!
