Clubbing by Andi Watson and Josh HowardHave I told you about my newest favoritest graphic novel imprint? Minx! They are a line of graphic novels geared toward girls. And we’re not talking cheesy romance graphic novels, either. We are talking strong, feminine lead characters! My latest read is Clubbing by Andi Watson and Josh Howard. It’s about a spoiled rich girl from London who is sent to the country to live with her grandparents after she is caught, and jailed, for using a fake idea to get into a club. He grandparents own a golf club. One day, while poking around the club with her love interest (okay, maybe there IS SOME romance. I mean, we ARE girls after all. And we do like the romance.), she (and the boy) stumble upon a dead body! The plot thickens and the mystery begins. She is on a search for the killer, but she isn’t prepared for what she finds out…

Good As LilyAnother fabulous recent read was Good As Lily by Derek Kirk Kim and Jesse Hamm. This is the story of a young girl (I can’t remember the protagonist’s name) who, on her birthday, runs into herself at three different stages of her life. She takes “herselves” home with her, sneaking them in without telling her parents. It seems she is stuck with them until they help her come to terms with various issues that she has to face. It’s a really interesting, creative story. Very funny, too.

I could go on and on with these graphic novels. I intend to read them all as they come in. They are simply fantastic. I highly recommend them.
