I whipped this up in a few days. It’s Wisp from the Summer 2007 issue of Knitty. I wanted to knit it as practice for a possible gift. I think it turned out cute and I will go ahead and knit it for it’s intended recipient. I love that it can be worn several ways. In the picture to the left I wrapped it around my neck and buttoned it in front.
In the picture on the right I buttoned it along the opposite side, thus securing it nicely around my shoulders. The buttons are from JoAnns and were not very expensive. They are shell buttons. The yarn is Kidsilk Haze. I have to admit, and I may be committing knitting blasphemy by saying this, but I am kind of weary of this yarn. It’s beautiful yarn but I’m soo sick of this color. I already made a shawl out of it and had some left over.
I bought another ball of this color thinking I would make a Mason-Dixon Cardi Cozy. When I learned that it takes more than 2 balls ( a lot more. I should have been able to use my noggin and figure it out. I knew that sounded too good to be true.) I got kind of frustrated and put the yarn away in the closet. So I dug it out again last weekend to try out this pattern. And I STILL have another ball left. ugh.
Here’s the Ravelry info if you want the details.
All in all, I am happy with the project. It was very easy and quick. I will probably get lots of use out of it since it is so versatile.
