Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

  • Weekly Photo Challenge: Horizon

    October 25, 2013

    The Roof

We might be on a roll. Let’s see if this sticks. Here is an entry for the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge, which is Horizon. Perhaps it is a slightly different take, but it jumped out at me.

This was taken at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, WA. I used Fuji Neopan 400 with a yellow filter. I really like the B&W shots I’ve taken with a yellow filter. I need to remember to put it back on the next time I shoot black and white!

  • Film swap with Inge – round 2!

Film swap with Inge – round 2!

    Flowers mingle across the Atlantic.

I did another film swap with my friend Inge last month. I’ve been meaning to post the results but, honestly, my blogging mojo has fallen by the wayside. I am having a really hard time finding the motivation to write in general lately. I am hoping that today’s post with get the old blogging juices flowing again.

This time around I sent a roll of film overseas to Inge. I shot my roll at Bagby Hotsprings, the day I write about in this blog post, actually. She decided to shoot the roll while she was on vacation in Germany. The results are really cool! Here are a few more of my favorites:

    Forage

    Graffitied Chateau

    The man in the house
My husband is the man in the house.

    waterfall/castle

These are always lots of fun. It’s so interesting to see how everything shakes out when you get the images back.

If you are interested in doing a film swap with me I’d love it! Let me know in the comments!

  • Girl In a Wetsuit

    October 17, 2013

New blog post on Pinhole Obscura about an interesting sculpture I visited in Vancouver B.C.

    Girl In The Wetsuit

Girl In a Wetsuit is a statue in Vancouver, B.C.’s Stanley Park taken after the famous Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, Denmark. Because the original is still under copyright until 2029, it can’t be reproduced. Vancouver decided to avoid legal action by modernizing it, making The Little Mermaid a diver instead. I like the idea!

My photo is, sadly, one of the disadvantages of not having a camera with a lens. I like the ambiance, but you can’t see what this is a photo of specifically. Here is a photo that will give you a better look at the detail.

    Camera: Zero 2000
    Exposure time: 5 seconds
    Film: Portra 160
    Pinhole: 0.18mm
    Focal Length: 25mm
    ISO: 160
    Aperture: f138
    Dev: C-41 by Lab
    Scan:Epson V500
