Home is the place where my soul fits.

I searched and searched through my photos for something different to post but, in the end, this is what jumped out at me. It is my living room, the view from the chair that I sit in. I was testing a new photo app for my iPhone. I love my home. My favorite things to do are at home. I am not a party girl or a socializer. I love cozying up and enjoying the solitude, or the company of my favorite person.

Yes, I did! I had a few prints in storage and thought I would put them up for sale. My shop is at Big Cartel. I am thinking it might be fun to offer themes every so often. Right now my theme is “Prints from my archives.” But in the near future when I take my Black and White Darkroom class I will offer prints that I made in the darkroom and they will be one of a kind.
The prints I am offering right now are 8×10 and they are signed on the back. You can visit the shop for more details.

We have arrived at Christmas 1974. Here I am opening a present and giving (what I think is) a thumbs up. I wonder what I got? I calmed down a bit on Christmas day as I got older. My scanner is completely confused and doesn’t know what to do with the carpet. Also, the couch. What is that? What in god’s name were we thinking when we chose that color palette?
Here is my mom preparing a turkey. I love her hair!
And my dad. What a handsome guy!
My parents in this picture are at least ten years younger than I am now. Probably closer to 15. Why does that make me feel weird? Like the weight of time is crushing down on me…
I look at these photos and realize that I am living in a whole different universe then this. The colors and style and the house we lived in and everything about it is so far away.
