Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

    Happy Blog Birthday, Blatherskite

    January 27, 2018

My blog is 15 years old today! Wow. I almost can’t believe it. I also can’t believe it was only 5 years ago that I celebrated my 10 year blogiversary by handmaking a book of favorite blog posts. I feel kind of bad that I didn’t think to do anything like that for this anniversary. Hm. Maybe before the year is up I will come up with something. Maybe a book of photos? Photos and poems? I’ll have to think about it…

To celebrate, here is a pantoum I write several years ago using the lines of the first post I ever wrote.

    R. and I took a drive up the coast yesterday.
    It was so rejuvenating.
We went to one of our favorite beaches.
I don’t know the name of the beach but it is very beautiful.

There are lots of rocks jutting up from the ocean.
I don’t know the name of the beach but it is very beautiful.
    Yesterday the waves were huge!

I felt so full of energy and hope.
    Yesterday the waves were huge!
I don’t ever want to leave this place.

I felt so full of energy and hope.
    I love living here.
I don’t ever want to leave this place.
Expensive it is and hard to get by.

The original blog post was a rumination on “should I stay or should I go” regarding moving away from Santa Cruz. We moved. We still very much miss Santa Cruz and still ruminate about moving back someday.

  • F Up Friday

Some of my film photography friends on Twitter have posted some of their favorite messed up shots on Fridays and I thought I’d join in the fun. I’m going to use this post as a jumping off point to post more Holga shots in the near future.

For some reason my Holga often ends up in bulb mode and then half the roll ends up all blurry. Which is what happened with these two shots at the end a roll. They were both taken around my small town.

I used a Holga 120GFN and mystery film.

This was was taken on my walk to work. I found this knife on the sidewalk and this stick sitting near it. A person walked by while I was making this and I wondered what they were thinking of the whole scene.

    Film: Illford FP4
