Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

A photo I took on my walk to work back in April. This is the dreaded Meinig Hill. Going down isn’t bad but going up? Hell.

Another post idea randomly generated by Big Huge Thesaurus.

I present:  the exciting story of my walk to work this morning…

As per my usual routine, I put on my earphones and fired up Spotify so that I could be fortified with tunes on my walk. I usually choose something from my “Starred” playlist to get me started but today I decided to hit play. I was amused by what randomly came up. Unfortunately I don’t remember what song it was (dammit).

It was foggy out and I was loving it. I took it in and enjoyed the misty air. Then I got to the crazy steep hill in the park and my legs started hurting (they are still store from my hike on Monday). I was cursing a little in my head by the time I got to the top.

I stopped in for my daily Americano and grabbed a Luna bar as well. They charged me an inordinate amount of money for both and it didn’t make sense to me but I was going to let it go. The lady who rang me up (also the owner) noticed and it got remedied quickly. I was happy that they caught it. I walked the rest of the way to work thinking that I need to be less of a pushover.

  • Paradise Park

    20120813-185140.jpg

I’ve been wanting to hike to Paradise Park on Mt. Hood for years and today I finally did it! Here is a pano I made with an iPhone app called 360 Panorama. Click the photo for bigger (if you click the photo on the page that comes on when you click the one above you will see it even bigger!). This is where we ate lunch. I don’t know if there is a name for this rock. It is very odd. It just sits out in the middle of the meadow as if the mountain spewed it forth and it landed and broke apart.

I brought my digital SLR this time and will post pictures later.

  • black and white foliage

    August 12, 2012

This was taken with my Pentax P30t with Ektar 100. I took it way back in May when I took this one. I thought I would play around with Lightroom a bit so I changed it to black and white. I don’t know how kosher that is when one uses a film known specifically for it’s saturation but whatev. Here is the original. What do you think? Black and white or color?
