Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

  • A sock I made

    October 22, 2007

A finished sockYep. I made this sock. It’s made with Tofutsies sock yarn. Tofutsies is kind of unique because it’s made with fiber created with crab shells! Not all of it. A small percentage of it. There is also some fiber made from Soy. As well as some wool and cotton mixed in there, too. This pattern is the Madder Ribbed socks from Knitting Vintage Socks. If you are on Ravelry you can see the specs here.

I really should be raking those leaves instead of knitting, taking pictures, or blogging. sigh.

It was hard to choose a daily picture from our Greenbluff Photoroll today, but I decided on this one. I really enjoyed taking the pictures of the silhouettes. It felt like kind of an artsy moment.

Incedentally, I did take pictures yesterday but they won’t be posted here. I took about 500 pictures at the Spokane Is Spelling spelling bee yesterday with the library’s camera. I had a blast!

    Helios

I was feeling very overwhelmed and stressed this morning and it was weighing heavily on me as I walked to work this morning. I didn’t think I would have time to take my “daily photo” today again. But then I looked up and saw this. And then I stopped, took my camera out of my bag and took a picture. And the gigantic weight was lifted off of my shoulders and I felt better. A gift from the gods.
