Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

  • Something I made

    October 8, 2007

Something I madeI made this thing about 18 years ago in a pottery class I took at SFCC. The teacher looked at it and said it looked awful. Her comments made me feel awful. I felt very discouraged because I had worked so hard on it. I came up with the idea and tried to execute it. There was a middle-aged woman (who was probably the age I am now!) who was mad at our teacher for making such discouraging comments and said she would buy it from me. I thought it was very sweet of her but I declined, because I thought that she was just trying to make me feel better.

I never really forgot that teacher and her words to me. I never tried pottery again, despite the fact that it’s something I’ve always been interested in. But I’m glad I had that experience and I’m glad I kept this ugly piece of pottery (and it is. It really is. I didn’t show you the whole thing). It is a reminder to me. It is the reason why I would never, ever, discourage anyone while they are creating art.

  • Cute Cows

I saw these cows on the side of the road and decided to stop and take a picture of them. They were very cute. They all just sat and stared at me.

When I looked at these photos again I realized that I forgot to change the settings on my camera from yesterday’s black and white self portrait. So that’s why this picture is in Black and white.

    Will Rogers High School

Yesterday was a strange day. I recieved a message in my inbox saying that I had a Myspace friend request. Skeptical, I logged into Myspace to see who this person was. As it turned out it was a real person and not a spammer. The person was someone that graduated from my High School the same year I did! We e-mailed back and forth a few times and decided that we really don’t remember each other, but as I was looking at her friend list I saw lots of familiar names and faces there. I checked out thier profiles and photos. I noticed that there were “reunion” albums in thier profiles. Reunion? Yes. Apparently there was a 20 year reunion, in Spokane, the town in which I live, last summer and I didn’t know about it. How did I not know about this? It’s not like I’m a hard person to find! I’m all over the freaking internet! And look, My name is posted right here on this page for the South Hill Library! and there is at least one person in this town that I graduated with that knows how to get ahold of me!

Needless to say I’m kind of pissed off about it. I’m actually someone who would’ve liked to have gone, had they invited me.

    shunned again.

Why do I feel like I’m in High School?
