Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

    Pretty View

I was tempted to post another macro shot today but, instead, decided on a pretty view. We went for a great hike today and ended up on top of the world.

    A Wrinkle in Time

I went to Knitpicks.com to buy a couple of Space Bags and a circular Harmony needle. I ended up adding a size 7 nickle-plated set of tips and 24″ cord. My order didn’t add up to $45 and I wanted the free shipping, so I started adding yarn. Then I started to feel uneasy. Why? Was it because I was spending money (something that kind of makes me feel uneasy anyway)? I came to the conclusion that it wasn’t that. It was the buying of yarn! The thought of adding more yarn to my stash kind of stesses me out. I don’t think it’s the fact that I have the yarn. I think it’s the idea of having one more project hanging over my head. I have all of this freaking yarn in my closet for a million freaking projects and when am I EVER going to get them done? So I think I need to hold off on the yarn-buying. Craziness, I know!

I just now found out that Robert Jordan Died. Robert Jordan is the author who wrote The Wheel of Time series. I have read the first two books in the series(the Eye of the World and The Great Hunt) and have really enjoyed them. In fact, I’ve been kind of itching for a good fantasy read and have been thinking about starting in on the third one. My stepdad and sister-in-law are huge fans of the books. They have read each one and anxiously wait for the next one to come out. They are going to be especially disappointed in this news. How sad.

On that note, there have been a lot of sad deaths lately in the Children’s book world. Madeleine L’Engle (author of A Wrinkle in Time), Bruce Wood(illustrator and son of Audrey and Don Wood. He was only 34!), and Lloyd Alexander (author of The High King).

Lately I am feeling overwhelmed. I don’t know why. I don’t really know what is making me feel this way. Maybe I’m doing too much. I am trying to sort this out.

I kind of feel a little bad for only posting photographs on my blog lately. But at the end of they day I feel like it is all I can do. I hope you don’t mind. I am trying to become a better photographer and this practice has been helping me tremendously. It is time consuming, though, and cutting into my time for other things. It’s not neccessarily a bad thing, though. I do really enjoy it.
