Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

I was going to post a review of The Land of the Blind by Jess Walter today but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Tomorrow.

    Life's a beach

The husband and I went for a walk around our ‘hood yesterday afternoon. I haven’t walked around here since we moved here in June. Turns out, a few blocks down the street is a foresty area. Unfortunately, people dump thier stuff there, too. Somebody abandoned a golf cart, as you can see. Sad, isn’t it? It could be a beautiful little area for people to hike through and enjoy and stupid people are using it as a garbage dump. It pisses me off that people here have no respect for nature.

  • Pinwheel

    November 27, 2006

I started a Pinwheel Baby Blanket for my Husband’s Brother and his wife who are having a baby. Due sometime in the next few days, I am told. I thought it was due in January. But no. It’s due at the end of November. Yikes. Definately not going to be done in the next few days.

I’m knitting it with Plymouth Encore Colorspun worsted yarn. Half Acrylic and Half wool. Washible and dryable. Which is good for babies, I would imagine. I am using the exact same yarn that I used for this baby blanket. The recipient of that one, another niece on my husbands side, is now a little over a year old and she LOVES it. It’s her blankie. That makes me so happy. Something I knit for her is her beloved blankie. It’s the highest compliment for a knitter, I think.

  • I am the moon

    November 26, 2006

    You are The Moon

    Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery – when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.
