Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

Another one of those blog thingamajigs. It’s kind of weird, but this sorta describes me. I am a very day-dreamy kind of person.

    Your Birthdate: March 11
Your birth on the 11th day of the month makes you something of a dreamer and an idealist.

You work well with people because you know how to use persuasion rather than force.

There is a strong spiritual side to your nature, and you may have intuitive qualities inherent in your make up, too.

You are very aware and sensitive, though often temperamental.

Although you have a good mind and you are very analytical, you may not be comfortable in the business world.

You are definitely creative and this influence tends to make you more of a dreamer than a doer.

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

    Busy Busy!

    May 10, 2005

Wow! Work is kicking my butt today! I haven’t even had time to read the news…I did get a CNN e-mail news flash that the father of one of those two girls who were found stabbed to death has been arrested for the crime. Big surprise there. I will have to go read more on that. Oh, and Kenny Chesney and Renee Zellweger got married after only dating for 4 months.. Not sure why I care about that, but oh well.

Going to be in Kentucky Thursday through Saturday, and away from my computer. I don’t want to lug my laptop through the airport and then have to figure out how to open up the battery compartment. ugh. Plus, I will need all of that extra space for my knitting implements. Wooden needles, of course. If they take them from me I will be so pissed!

Hopefully I will blog a bit tommorrow. But for now, for your viewing pleasure, here is a picture of the Emily Morgan hotel in San Antonio. This was the view from the hotel we stayed at. What a gorgeous, old, gothic, hotel! It’s supposedly haunted, too.

  • More Jimbo

    May 9, 2005

Well, apparently the Jim West story is breaking wide open in Spokane. I talked to my family about it and they are pissed. Big Brass Blog is covering the story in detail. The sad thing about this, as Christie says, is that it that really stupid people are going to continue to lump being a pedophile in with being gay, which, as we in the reality based community know without having to be told, is utter crap. JJ quotes West on his thoughts about being gay:

“I’m being destroyed because I am a gay man, which is fine. I’ve been in public life, I can accept that. Because I am a gay man, because of this double life, it has been hell.”

No, you worthless piece of crap, you are being destroyed because YOU ARE A PEDOPHILE! Being Gay has NOTHING to do with it. There are plenty of gay people in politcs and they have not been destroyed. You are rightly being destroyed because you are a sick, sick man who sexually abuses children.

I hope that he is fully prosecuted.

The Review Building in Spokane, Washington
    Image via Wikipedia

    Big Brass Blog

For a quarter century, the man who is now Spokane‘s mayor has used positions of public trust – as a sheriff’s deputy, Boy Scout leader and powerful politician – to develop sexual relationships with boys and young men.

One man, Robert J. Galliher, claims in a court deposition that Jim West molested him in the mid-1970s when he was a boy and West was a Spokane County sheriff’s
deputy and Boy Scout leader. A second man, Michael G. Grant Jr., also accuses
West of sexual abuse during the same era, including an incident at Camp Cowles,
a Boy Scout camp on Diamond Lake.

In addition, an investigation by The Spokesman-Review has revealed that 17 months after leaving the state Legislature, West has used the trappings of the mayor’s office to entice and influence young men he met on a gay Web site.
On one recent occasion, West offered a man he believed to be an 18-year-old – whom he met online at Gay.com – gifts, favors and a City Hall internship, Internet dialogues retained by the newspaper reveal. The 18-year-old was actually a forensic computer expert working for the newspaper.

Found this on Big Brass Blog, whom I discovered via Atrios.
Another hypocritical, anti-gay republican who is actually gay. sickening. According to Big Brass Blog, he threatened to veto domestic partnership benefits for city employees.

WTF? no really..what the fuck? How can a person be so hypocritical? Why not just come out of the friggen closet? Is being a Republican so great that you have to hide who you are? I so don’t understand this thinking. These people obviously have accepted the fact that they are gay if they are going out and finding partners in thier private lives. The fact that they do this tells me that they don’t find anything wrong with it. So why pretend to be something that you are not?

It makes me want to bang my head against a wall, I tell you!

But this guy is more than just a hypocritical republican, really. He is pure scum for molesting children. But that goes without saying, doesn’t it.

  • The banning of books

    April 28, 2005
The Color Purple by Alice Walker

This is unbelievable. A Republican legislator in Alabama wants to ban all books from public school ibraries that have anything to do with gays, whether they be written by them, or about them. As pointed out in the article:

Books by any gay author would have to go: Tennessee Williams, Truman Capote and Gore Vidal. Alice Walker’s novel “The Color Purple” has lesbian characters.

Crazy! This is just crazy. Some of the best authors of the 20th century banned because of their lifestyle. I don’t even know what to say. Stunned again by those vile nutjobs.
