Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

Yahoo! News – Bush Urges Iraqis to Vote, Lowers Expectations

Bush also expressed sadness over the crash of a U.S. helicopter in western Iraq that news reports said killed 31 American Marines. Five more U.S. troops died in insurgent attacks on Wednesday.

He did?!? I certainly didn’t hear any “sadness”. You gotta love the media spin.

I listened to the press conference this morning. Not because I wanted to ( I can’t stand the sound of Bush’s voice). It happened to be on while I was getting ready for work. I think he set some new lows with this one. For example, the answer to the helicopter crash…..He couldn’t fake a better answer to that question? He said someting about looking into the facts. That was it. And the answer to the questions regarding the growing opposition to the Iraq war in America. His answer, as always, “the world is a better place without Saddam.” Uh, yeah…That’s true, but it still doesn’t change the fact THAT WE WERE MISLED INTO THIS WAR!!!

I was so mad I flipped the radio off! God, and we have four more years of this clown…

  • Jan. 24 called worst day of the year

    January 24, 2005

MSNBC – Jan. 24 called worst day of the year

I heard this on the news this morning and thought I’d post the article on my blog today. The study was done in Britan and has much to to with Seasonal Affective Disoder and the dark, dreary days in Britan. Add to that debt from Christmas, failed attempts at new years resolutions, and, well, you got yourself a cocktail of depresson.

Personally, I find myself more depressed on Mondays. It’s hard to drag my ass to work on Monday morning. And I’ve found myself down in the doldrums lately for various reasons. Much of it has to to with the debt accumulated over the holidays. So maybe there’s something to this study….

    Big Sur

    January 22, 2005

Here’s another pic that I took on tuesday. Boy, am I milking this for all it’s worth! It’s nice to look at pictures of the Big Sur coastline. There’s something about it that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Well, no sign of crazy guy today, thank goodness. I was half expecting him to knock on our window last night. I barely got any sleep. This is so weird. I hope that he just goes away and doesn’t come back. Raf thinks that he is pretty harmless. I talked to my neighboor upstairs and she said the same thing. But there’s a part of me that feels very uneasy about this whole thing.

  • When a stranger calls.

    January 21, 2005

Hmmmm. When I came home from work at about 6:30 Raffa came outside to tell me that the strange man came back at about 5:40. Our upstairs neighboor was the one who saw him. She said that he mumbled something about “Julie has his things” and then he stared toward our door. Our neighboor was very disturbed by him and told him to leave or she would call the cops. He left…

We called the sheriff again. They said they would put more people on patrol in our area.
