Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

    Twin Peaks Tourists

    March 5, 2017

Check it out! I have a new post up on Pinhole Obscura, after a very long hiatus.

Last summer my husband and I found ourselves in Redmond, WA overnight for photography show opening. While we were there we found out we were really close to a couple of locations where Twin Peaks was filmed. Since we are both giant fans of the show we knew we needed to take the long way home […]

    A Meal – Pinholed

    March 3, 2017

I did a lot of pinholing of meals, mostly of me eating lunch, when I did my One Pinhole A Day project. Here is a meal with others. I brought my Zero 45 with me to a restaurant in Portland where I had lunch with my coworkers after running the Jingle Bell Run. At one point I had to move the camera to the other side of the table to make room for others. I really like the way this came out! I love that when you begin a pinhole photo you never know what will happen in the moments that tick away during an exposure. The spontaneity is a big part of the fun. And turning people into ghosts. 🙂

    Film: Illford Delta 100
Exposure time: 38 minutes, 7 seconds

That time I took a photo of garbage

    February 24, 2017

Here is another shot from my One Pinhole A Day project. On my walk to work I often see empty plastic bottles of this brand of vodka lying by the sidewalk. It always makes we wonder about the person who emptied it. I decided to pinhole it one day.

    December 3

Incidentally, I was interviewed last Friday evening on my friend John Meadow‘s podcast, MPP. We had a great conversation about pinhole photography, film, and the postcard swap. You can listen here. And his podcast, in general, is really great and worth subscribing to if you are a film photography geek (like me). 🙂

  • Drawing is a meditation

    Drawing is a meditation

    February 20, 2017

OK, I have to admit, I am having trouble thinking of content to post here everyday. I am thinking I might have bitten off more than I could chew. I would love to check in here but I think I am going to have to dial it back a bit.

Here is a post from my sketching blog, posted today. I am really, really wanting to develop a daily drawing habit and for some reason I keep tripping over myself. I feel like this needs to be a major focus for me. I don’t know why. But I don’t think we question the muse when she is knocking (very loudly) on our door.

I will post again here on Blatherskite in a few days when I’ve composed something interesting. See you soon!

Damn. It’s been a month since I picked up a pen and I’ve really missed it. I been doing other things but that muse has been screaming at me in the back of my mind telling me to sketch. Today I’ve been struggling a bit with depression and thought maybe it would help. The jury […]
