Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

Photographer In The Sunbeams – Pinholeday Contender #2

    May 20, 2016

My next WPPD contender is this one. However, I think I’ve already decided not to use it. When I first saw it I thought it was kinda good. I love it when I can get shots of the swirly, colorful sunbeams. But then I saw Howard Moiser’s version of this shot in WPPD Gallery. FUUUUCK. His really blows mine out of the water. Seriously, go check it out. It is awesome. This is what at master pinhole photographer’s work looks like 🙂

I love that I got to hang out with so many talented people on pinhole day! I have so much gratitude for the pinhole community.

Here comes the rain again Falling on my head like a memory Falling on my head like a new emotion

    May 19, 2016

Yesterday I woke up to a very sunny, beautiful day. As I was packing up my backpack for work I briefly thought about taking my raincoat out. “I don’t need this today, it’s sunny and nice,” I thought. And then I remembered that I live in Oregon so I left it in my bag. Guess what happened later that evening before I walked home? Yep. It rained. I’m glad I listened to my gut. It was still raining on my walk to work this morning and this song came up on my iTunes. I had to smile to myself.

  • Frank’s Noodle House

    Frank’s Noodle House

    May 18, 2016

Every so often Raf gets on a Food Network kick and will watch every episode of a FN show. Currently, he is into Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It seems like they visit Portland restaurants a lot on that show! Most of the places featured are very meat oriented. But every once in awhile a vegetarian option will come up. One of those options was Frank’s Noodle House. We decided we would go there for lunch this past Monday. They feature traditional Chinese hand-pulled noodles.

Wow. It was delicious. I got the vegetable noodles and Raf got the tofu noodles. He said he could’ve done without the tofu because there was nothing special about it. I loved the vegetable noodles. The noodles were definitely fresh as were the veggies. They served it with house made egg drop soup which was also delicious. And the prices were very very reasonable. We didn’t even have to wait for a table!

  • a poem for your Tuesday

    a poem for your Tuesday

    May 17, 2016

I have to admit that I am feeling like I am running out of ideas for my 100 days of blogging. I mean, how do I top 2 weeks of traveling in Europe and the after effects? But this lovely poem by Wayne Miller appeared in my inbox this morning from Poets.org so I thought I would share it.

read the full text of “Mind-Body Problem” here.
