Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

I was serenaded on my way to work by really awesome songs on iTunes, songs that I haven’t heard in awhile. “Soul Meets Body” was one of them. I thought about the video on the video version of this album, Directions, and decided that I wanted to share it on my blog today because it is one of my favorite videos of all time. Then I discovered that it no longer exists on YouTube, which makes me sad because the “official” video pales in comparison.

    Olympus OM1

    December 21, 2015

So now I am down to sharing drawings from past months because I literally have not picked up a pencil all week. The muse is a fickle bitch. Anytime she wants to come back – I’m waiting…

I started drawing my camera collection several months ago. I think this drawing of my Olympus OM1 is my favorite of these sketches.

“Every morning when I wake up, I experience an exquisite joy —the joy of being Salvador Dalí— and I ask myself in rapture: What wonderful things is this Salvador Dalí going to accomplish today?”

  • You lead the way, I’ll follow

    December 18, 2015

you lead the way, I'll follow.

My next Holga image is another pinhole shot from my Holga WPC. It was made at one of my favorite places, Wildwood park, up on Mt Hood. I got the title from a little game I was doing a couple of years ago. I got tired of titling my photos by stating the obvious so decided to title them by using the first line of the song I was listening to at the moment. In this case, I think it worked very well. In other cases, not quite as well (though, still, maybe more interesting than stating the obvious). This went on for a couple of months then it was back to business as usual.

How do you come up with good titles for your photos?

    ————————————-
    Camera: Holga WPC (6×9 mask)
    Film: Kodak Ektar 100
Exposure time: ?. Maybe 30 seconds?
