Fitzgerald to Seek Indictment of Rove

Despite vehement denials by his attorney who said this week that Karl Rove is neither a “target” nor in danger of being indicted in the CIA leak case, the special counsel leading the investigation has already written up charges against Rove, and a grand jury is expected to vote on whether to indict the Deputy White House Chief of Staff sometime next week, sources knowledgeable about the probe said Friday afternoon.

THANK GOD! I can’t wait for the day when he is handed his indictment.

What the Karl Rove Issue Is Really About

Dear Friend,

The attacks from certain members of the Democratic Party against Karl Rove this week have been an absolute disgrace. This is an attempt at personal destruction and political opportunism at its very worst-it is downright shameless.

It has been reported that the liberal extremist group MoveOn.org has been giving the Democratic leadership direction over the last several months. It comes as no surprise that MoveOn.org was the first to call for Karl Rove’s resignation this week.

But for members of Congress to take part in this smear campaign, that’s an entirely different and truly unfortunate matter altogether. The Democratic leadership even brought the political attack against Mr. Rove to the floor of the United States Senate on Thursday by offering an amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations bill that would strip his security clearance. Strip his security clearance based on what, hearsay? What an absolute sham!

This excerpt from a statement from Mr. Rove’s attorney, Robert Luskin, should help demonstrate why the Democrats are so completely and utterly off base in their political antics:

“Rove has cooperated completely with the special prosecutor, and he has been repeatedly assured he is not a target of the investigation. Rove has done nothing wrong. We’re confident that he will not become a target after the special prosecutor has reviewed all evidence.”

Majority Leader Bill Frist summed it up quite well in saying, “this is a sad and disappointing afternoon here in the United States Senate.”

Based on the information at their disposal, the Democrats have taken reckless partisan attacks to a new level. The Democratic Party leadership is in disarray and they are desperate-attacking has become their modus operandi. They have personally attacked the President’s well qualified judicial nominees. They have attacked every single plan that is put forth to address saving Social Security. Howard Dean personally attacked the Republican Party, saying its members have not worked an honest day in their lives. And the Minority Leader Harry Reid personally attacked the President of the United States by calling him a loser and a liar. The Democratic leadership has guided the Party into an abyss-no new ideas, no agenda, just negativity.

Below are some quotes from Senate Democrats that fully acknowledge the points that I am making and should serve as a reminder why it is so important to support the Republican Majority in the United States Senate.

With warmest best wishes,

Elizabeth Dole

This enrages me. How dare they make this a partisan issue!!!! How dare they make Rove out to be the victim! How dare they attempt to bully our Democratic Senators when they raised thier voices on this issue on the Senate floor, where the issue SHOULD be raised, if anything to get it into the Congressional Record, so future generations will know about the extent of this. This is exactly why I was angry when I watched Mehlman on Meet the Press. THIS IS NOT A PARTISAN ISSUE! Got it? This is something EVERYONE needs to be concerned about. Rove’s lawyer has admitted that he did this. This is not a smear campaign. Rove is smearing himself just fine as it is. I seriously don’t know how the Republicans can sleep at night. This is so unbelievably unethical, and I can’t stand it!

And another thing, what is it with this republican tactic of making the bully out to be the victim? Because I personally know some republicans in my own personal life who do this very thing. They try to bully the liberal in one way or another, and then when the liberal stands up for him/herself, they cower in the corner and say that they have been victimized by the person they were bullying! I HATE that! Why do they do that?!? Why?!?

Neocon talking points on Rove

Karl Rove Assistant to the President, Deputy C...

As Mandrake points out, the Republicans have thier official talking points out regarding Karl Rove on Raw Story.

Here are a couple of highlights:

  • “Once again, Democrats are engaging in blatent political attacks”
  • “Karl Rove discouraged a reporter from writing a false story based on a false premise” (this one enrages me. Making the traitor out to be a “hero..”)

Following the bulleted list the is (practically) a dissertation that goes on, essentially, to smear Wilson.

I am sick to my stomach. Do these people have no shame? They actually think treasonous behavior is okay? The fact of the matter is that Rove leaked the name of a CIA agent to the press, revealing her identity to the public. That is a crime. Do you want to read the United States Code that specifically states that this is a crime? Here it is. Rove committed a federal crime. He needs to pay for that. The sooner the Republican party realizes this, the better we will be. Now is not the time for partisan politics. Now is the time to send to jail a dispicable, evil man who has committed a federal offense. And now is the time to investigate the Bush administration to see how involved this administration was in this affair. This is serious shit. This is not a blow job. This is treason. I, as an American Citizen, want to know how involved the President is in all of this.

Since Rove is Bush’s right hand man, it is my inclination to believe that Bush is very involved.

I swear, if Rove gets away with this, and if Bush isn’t investigated for this….we, as a nation have got to do something. I’m tired of just sitting back and writing about it. we need to take back our friggen country! It is being held hostage by criminals!

White House expresses confidence in top Bush aide – Yahoo! News

The White House broke its silence and said on Tuesday that President Bush continued to have confidence in his top political adviser, Karl Rove, despite his involvement in a scandal over the leak of the identity of a CIA agent.

So Rove is going to walk, if Bush has his way. Bush is a friggen criminal, too. I’m so tired of this corrupt administration. I’m tired of this “stick together no matter what” mentality of the Republican party. We have a person who committed a felony, risking the security of a CIA agent, and possibly thwarting an important mission, at the side of the President, and the Repugs are sticking by him, for the sake of partisan politics. Just because he is a republican, they are going to allow him to get away with this. Aren’t they getting sick, yet, of associating with this corruption?

According to Americablog, the White House was behind Rove’s atrocious statement wednesday evening. Check out the republican Talking points that were published yesterday regarding Democrat’s outrage over Rove’s statements. They are calling it “Faux outrage”. oh man. I’m pissed. And this is not Faux anger. They had better not get away with this. The Dems in charge in congress had better stand up to these bullies. No more rolling over. That is it. This neocon, fascist administration is evil. If it is true that these comments by Rove are part of a planned attack (and it would not surprise me in the least if they were, this is how Rove operates), then our country is truly, truly skating on thin ice toward blatent, outright fascism. This isn’t some silly neocon blogger making these divisive statements. This is the Executive Office of the United States. This is scary.
