Trillium Lake Trees

that time in August in the Forest

Here is another large format pinhole photo taken last summer up on Mt. Hood. I can’t remember where this was taken! I think it might be Trillium Lake, but I can’t be entirely sure. I am guessing by the trees.

I have to admit that I don’t know where this was taken or what it is even a picture of. Well, it appears it is a waterfall but the chicken wire is throwing me off a little.

Ok, while I was typing that last sentence it hit me. I know where this was taken. It was taken at Zig Zag Falls. I think I have pinholed this with every single camera that I own at this point (note to self, this might make an interesting blog post).

Post Canyon Trees

Post Canyon

I have a series of large format pinhole photographs that I took last summer up on Mt Hood that I am going to post over the next few weeks. (I am hoping it will inspire me to dust of the Zero 4×5 and get outside with it!)

This was taken up on Mt. Hood near Hood River at a place called Kingsley Reservoir. Last Summer Raf ran his first 50k race, the Post Canyon 50k, and it started here. A month before the race we decided to drive up there to scope out the place. I, of course, brought my pinhole camera!

Olympia

Here is the last of my large format shots from the SCOPES meetup in June.

Incidentally, I printed some contact prints of one of these negatives last week. They didn’t turn out great, but I had fun and have semi-vowed to get in the darkroom more often. It can be months in between the times I make prints. It’s hard to get into the groove when I am having to re-learn how to do things each time. I should commit to making prints once a week.

Here is another photo from the SCOPES meetup in Olympia in June. Gosh, I love this camera. I need to buy more film for it so I can give it more love.
