I’m listening to an excellent book at the moment called Feed by MT Anderson. It takes place in the future and is narrated by a teenager who comes from an upper-middle class background. In the future, people are connected to “the feed,” which is kind of a hyped-up morphing of the internet and television. The feed is implanted inside you brain, however, and it becomes a part of your limbic system. It’s basically a biting satire of what our consumeristic society will become if we continue placing value on material things.
Of course I love it so far. I think I loved it two sentences in. The reader of the audible version is excellent and I think listening to this book is the way to go, rather than reading it. I will write more about it when I am done listening to it.
