just an update

Well, I guess I lied when I said I wouldn’t post until I moved. I thought I would give a little update on the move and show you a picture that I took from our trip last month to San Jose.

We found a place to live in Sandy. We drove over there last weekend to get this all figured out. Our application for the first place we wanted finally got approved two weeks after we sent it in so we thought we should go over and take a look at it. It looks pretty good! It’s a two bedroom and it has a dishwasher and washer/dryer hookups, which is all I really care about. I refuse to go back to using a laundromat and I refuse to go back to washing dishes by hand.

We have decided to sell our house. We have this really great Realtor (who called us) working for us and I really think he’s going to sell it so that we can get our equity back. So that’s looking very positive.

In the meantime, we are packing up the house and are planning on moving this Friday. I’m really looking forward to moving to Oregon. I feel so blessed right now. Things are looking up.

Ends and Beginings

Why, hello there! I’ve been absent the past few weeks, haven’t I. Well, I have good reason. There are changes coming! Good changes! Exciting changes! I got a new job and I am moving to Oregon in about 3 weeks. I am so excited! It’s a Children’s Librarian job in Sandy, which is a beautiful community at the base of Mt. Hood. I can’t wait to show you pictures and tell you all about my new home.

The next month is going to be very busy. I have decided to just not worry about the blog and photography and those kinds of things. We have to 1)find a place to live. 2)figure out what we are going to do with our house. 3)pack and move. I need to focus my attention on these three tasks so I’m going to give the blog, and my 365 project, a break until I get there.

As I said, I’m looking forward to sharing my new life with all of you. See you when I get there! 🙂

Dragonflies and first days

Life, Photography

Took this picture of a little dragon fly while at Skookum lake (I love the way that’s spelled…) the other day. pretty, eh?

Today was my first day at work! It was great! a little overwhelming, but really great. I think I’m going to like it a lot. I love the people that I met today. All very nice. A bit quiet, but library types tend to be that way. Hell, I tend to be that way, too 🙂 .

One quircky little thing is that I have my own cubicle space but not my own computer. I share with the other reference staff in the reference workroom. I’m not really sure if this is good or bad. Definately no personal computing at work for me. I don’t think I will have the time, anyway, because I think this job will be busy. Which is good. I like busy. But I’m not sure how this is going to affect my blogging. Probably not as much of it, or more posts like this one. We’ll have to see. I might bring my laptop to work and just use it, as I will be working in two different branches. I might even invest in an ibook or something…

I love working downtown. It’s close to where I live so I could walk if I wanted to. There is a gigantic hill on the walk back, but, nevertheless. A built in “buns of steel” workout perhaps? 😆

made it

We made it here at around 1:00 pm on Sunday. Just got the internet connection yesterday and we got my computer hooked up to it today. The inlaws left this morning so now we can get ourselves unpacked and organized. We have lots of work to do.

I don’t even know what is going on in the world! I picked up a newspaper on Monday and found out that Peter Jennings died. I was really sad about that. He was the news anchor that I watched the day of Sept. 11.

I haven’t had much of a chance to take pictures, but I will take some today and post. I live near some gorgeous parks!
