I can’t believe I didn’t post my Pinholeday photo on this blog! As I mentioned, I’ve been really struggling with depression for awhile and a lot of things have slipped my mind. I think I’m finally starting to feel better. And thus remembering to do things that I haven’t done.
I am actually really happy with many of the photos I took on Pinholeday so I will post them here as my next Friday photo blog series.
This year I met up with my pinhole photography buddies in San Francisco and we had a great time hanging out, wandering the streets of SF. Here is one from when we walked through Chinatown. I turned my camera around toward one of the shops. I really liked the mist of the flowing crowd through the frame.

I mentioned a few posts ago that one of the traditions that we have for our meetups on Pinholeday is to swap a roll of film with one of our friends for a film swap. This year I chose Jeff’s roll. I made my exposures, unwittingly, at the Chinese Garden when I was on a pinhole adventure with my friend Donna. I love how they came out though!

I’m always up for a film swap. Let me know if you are interested!
Two years ago when I visited Amsterdam to meet up with my Pinhole Obscura buddies on Pinholeday, we had a plan to bring along a roll of film to swap. Inge got the roll I brought. This past Pinholeday weekend, in Barcelona, she decided to re-shoot the roll! Here are the wonderful results!
You can see more Inge vs Moni film swaps on my Flickr.
This past Sunday was Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day! I met up with several friends from around the world in Portland. We had a fantastic time together. This is becoming an annual thing, these meetups. Last year we met in Amsterdam, this year in PDX, next year we will meet in Barcelona. I am already looking forward to next year’s adventure!
I am still waiting on film to come back from the lab from the day so I haven’t made my final decision, but I am, so far, leaning toward this one being my official submission to the Pinholeday.org website. I made several accidental double exposures that day due to beer, and just general excitement. I kind of feel like this photo sums up the day. I will post the rest of my results in another post.
