R and I went on our first camping trip! I’m so proud of us. We’ve been talking about it for a year. Since I’ve been on vacation, I thought it would be fun to go camping overnight after I got back from Spokane. We went to Memorial Park in San Mateo County. It’s about an hour drive from us, and in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It’s up Highway 1, off Pescadero road. It took us about a half an hour to pack since R had everything we needed in his Pack. We picked up some cup-o-noodles at Safeway on our way for our dinner.
The campground is so much more beautiful and awesome than I thought it would be. I think it is coolest campground I’ve ever been. Even better than Yosemite, because it’s smaller and the campsites are bigger. You don’t feel like you are on top of the neighbooring campsite. Our campsite was awesome. Right below us was a little stream and we had several Redwood groves. There are lots of hiking trails there so we got some good hiking in. Had a great time! Definately going to go back. 🙂
