Attorney general sues Mirant for manipulating energy market
“Mirant profited by breaking the law and plundering the people of California,” Lockyer said in a written statement. “They were, without question, one of the worst offenders during the energy crisis.”
Everytime I read an article about the “California Energy Crisis” I get mad. I think about those now infamous tapesof the Enron goons laughing about how they were going to profit from screwing Californians. And, according to the above article the Governator wants to keep deregulation in place. He-l-lo . . . It didn’t work the first time. And why didn’t it work? Greed. I hope they get sued for every dime they own, and I hope someone does jail time. The energy crisis really screwed a lot of people. It was awful! Somebody needs to pay big time for it. And I’m talking federal prison, not just a little slap on the hand!
