On the Electoral Vote Preditor’s page today, the votemaster mentioned some discussion on whether or not Bush was wired at the debate last week. There is an interesting article at Salon.com on this, with an image taken of him that shows a bulge on his back that looks distincly like a wire. The votemaster has his own photo that corroborates this story. Following links on the Salon.com article, I found the website linked to above. It’s a clearinghouse that disusses whether or not Bush is wired when he gives is speeches, press conferences, etc.
Frankly, this is not surprising to me. I’ve have wondered about this all along. Every one I know has thought this was the case. It explains why he has long, uncomfortable pauses when he speaks. It also explains why he can give a fairly eloquant speech and not be able to answer questions on the fly from reporters.
The name of the article at Salon.com is “Bush’s Mystery Bulge” and it is written by Lindorf. You can read it without a Salon.com subscription by watching a quick advertisement.

“Was President Bush literally channeling Karl Rove in his first debate with John Kerry?” Salon.com has this interesting article that the VoteMaster mentioned. Salon suggests that the President was wearing a radio receiver during the debate with Kerry…
