They just don’t get it. I’m done conversing with neocons. I just don’t want to. I don’t feel I would be engaging in a “healthy debate” with them. As I said in my earlier post, I care nothing for thier hateful opinion. I don’t even want to waste my time arguing with them. Some woman just left a comment (that I decided not to post) that prattled on and on about how she felt sorry for the parents and, again, Micheal Shiavo and Judge Greer are evil, etc. And then at the end she told me that “if I want to be taken more seriously I should check my blog posts for spelling errors.” Little word to the wise. If you want your comment on this blog, don’t give me advice that I don’t ask for. And if you don’t like my spelling errors, go somewhere else. I’m not here to try to win anyone over. I’m not here to debate issues. This blog is my venting space. And there are spelling errors. And there will be spelling errors until WordPress decides to package a spell check with thier product, okay? I have a feeling, Laura, that you wouldn’t take me seriously, regardless of what I have to say.
God, I wish these neocons would stop trolling liberal blogs…Why do they think we want thier little two cents? Why do they spend thier time reading our stuff? I certainly don’t spend my time surfing the web looking for what the neocon opinion is on a subject…weird.
Conservatives claimed that liberals “want” Schi … [Media Matters for America]
In discussing the Terri Schiavo case, several prominent media conservatives have accused liberals of wanting Schiavo to die and have imputed motives to them far beyond the belief, expressed by many liberals, that the courts were right to allow Schiavo’s husband to make end-of-life decisions on behalf of his wife.
Syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested that liberals “want this woman to die because Christian conservatives want her to live,” calling it “payback.” MSNBC host Joe Scarborough mused aloud about whether liberals “hate George Bush so much that they are cheering for Terri’s death only because the president of the United States and his brother are fighting for Terri’s life.” Wall Street Journal contributing editor Peggy Noonan claimed that the “pull-the-tube people” — she specifically named CNN Crossfire host James Carville and the website Democratic Underground — are “committed” to Schiavo’s death. Fox News host Bill O’Reilly singled out New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd and Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen, stating, “I don’t know why some of these left-wing columnists want her to die.”
I want Schiavo to die. But not because I want “payback’ or because I “hate the right-wing”. That’s stupid. It’s more than stupid. It’s retarded. I want her to die because I want her suffering to be over. Or maybe she isn’t suffering now, I don’t know, I’m not a doctor. I guess I think it’s her time to go. But to be perfectly honest, I agree with Annatopia . It’s really none of our business. And the thing that pisses me off about this situation is that, somehow, it has become our business. This should be a private, family matter.
The right-wing pundits think too highly of themselves. I’ve heard Micheal Savage say similar things, that liberals actually want death (in his example it was the soilders dying in Iraq) so that we can prove our point to the right-wingnuts. In reality I care nothing for these people and thier opinion. However, I am forced to deal with it because we have these people running our country and our media right now. And I speak up because thier beliefs are detrimental to our society. But my reaction has nothing to do with my counter-argument. No, my reaction is more of a disgust of what continually comes out of their mouth.
Here are a couple of comments that I just recieved regarding my opinion on the Terri Schiavo Case.
The man Michael is a murderer, a clever executor who has diverted what he has to have hidden to cast into the hot issues where the bunch of idiotic lawyers and judges have spent their time to accumulate the times to be paid, togather with the hypocrate medical experts to enhance their reputation to charge their ridiculous medical bills or fees.
He goes on and on in this vein.
And from Gianna:
I feel sorry for all of you. You have no values, or morals. It is a shame that there will be no afterlife for you. Repulicans are at least trying to do the right thing by God. All of you are probably Homosexual. (I’m right)
I am disturbed. Last weekend some neo-con wanted to “pull my plug.” It’s sick that you people act all high and mighy and claim to be Christian. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Gianna, how dare you pass judgement on me! You are telling me that I’m going to hell because I think Terri should die in peace and go to her maker in peace? I lack morals because I think it is only fair and right that HER WISHES (not the wishes of her parents and all of the crazy-ass neocons) be carried out? How is that lacking values? We all die..It’s a fact of life. It’s how God made us. Oh, and your calling me a homosexual isn’t an insult. Why on earth would you choose that word to insult me, though. Hmmm…I wonder. Could it be because you are a little repressed there? You might want to go figure that shit out.
And Enki, Your comment was, for the most part, incomprehensible. But there were a couple of things there that I want to address. To all of you crazy, stupid, fox-watching sheep out there: MICHEAL SHIAVO IS NOT A MURDERER! Good God! how did it get to be this bad? How did these stupid neocons move into this realm? So now, anyone who has to make these desicions about thier loved ones are murderers? It just completely blows my mind…I don’t even know how to respond to that. I don’t know, I guess I just deal with smart people all day and to come across people so fucking stupid just throws me for a loop. Enki, and all of you brain-washed sheeple, use some fucking logic. And the judges are just doing their job, okay? And thank God they are! Otherwise, we would truly be living in a fascist state. It’s called CHECKS AND BALANCES. Go read a little bit about the constitution. You might learn a thing or two.
Yahoo! News – Poll: Evangelicals Oppose Gov’t on Schiavo
More than two-thirds of people who describe themselves as evangelicals and conservatives disapprove of the intervention by Congress and President Bush (news – web sites) in the case of the Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged woman at the center of a national debate.
Wow! this is interesting….
The New York Times > Opinion > Editorial: A Blow to the Rule of Law
Republicans have traditionally championed respect for the delicate balance the founders created. But in the Schiavo case, and in the battle to stop the Democratic filibusters of judicial nominations, President Bush and his Congressional allies have begun to enunciate a new principle: the rules of government are worth respecting only if they produce the result we want. It may be a formula for short-term political success, but it is no way to preserve and protect a great republic.
This is an excellent opinion piece in the NYT. What Bush and his Repug minions in Congress did is utterly dispicable. It’s un-American.
Thank God the federal Judge didn’t bow to the Bush administration in this case! Thank God there are still people in this country who believe in democracy. This is not a fucking dictatorship Mr. Bush. Thank God this is still a democracy.
