Last night I participated in the Lilac Parade. I was in the Summer Reading Program Book Cart Drill Team. I really had no idea what this was all about when I signed up for it, but I knew it would involve book trucks.
We practiced doing drills every Thursday evening since the end of April. Yes, we did drills with the booktrucks.
It was really fun being in the Parade! It was hilarious seeing people’s expresions when they saw us go by. “It’s a bunch of Librarians…doing drills with booktrucks…have they no shame?”
And the answer is: no. No we don’t.
