The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
I read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman last week and Loved it! Really wonderful writing and storytelling. Each chapter could be a short story and I really liked that. It was kind of refreshing to read a book where each chapter was tied up nicely. Of course, there is a story that runs through the book but each chapter could stand alone, as well.
It is the story of Bod (nickname of Nobody) who is raised in a graveyard by ghosts. He learns that his family was murdered when he was a baby and the people who murdered them are looking for him.
There were several paragraphs that just totally grabbed me and spoke to me. The picture above is an example of one of those poignant passages. I love it.
“Wherever you go, you take yourself with you.”
Ain’t that the truth.
Neil Gaiman is great. I’ve read his Sandman graphic novels…good stuff.

Although I haven’t read that particular book, I adore Neil Gaiman. I think I’m going to stick that one into my Amazon cart right now.
