Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

    The Santa Cruz Monica

    October 9, 2012

    Sometimes I wonder
    If there is another me
who still lives in Santa Cruz.
    The Santa Cruz Monica.
The me who chose to be
A creative writing major at UCSC.
    She had guts.
She is the one who runs on the beach at sunrise.
She is the one who surfs The Hook.
She is the one who Is not afraid
Of wasps’s nests as she rappels
    The cliff at Castle Rock.
    She is the one who
    Writes stories about the Sea.
I can feel her when I visit.
    Her happy soul bleeds
Through the crack in our worlds.

  • Fall is finally upon us it seems

    October 8, 2012

    20121008-195612.jpg

The leaves are turning and falling. Autumn is here! The weather here has been amazing. California-like in fact. Strangely hot and dry for October.

This was snapped on my run yesterday. Running is not going spectacularly well lately. I have had to take time off for various reasons. Last week it was because sick. Now it appears I have injured my foot, so another few days off so it can heal.

  • Only a few more steps to the top

    October 7, 2012

    20121007-184211.jpg

Today our new thing was finally finishing that Mt. Tabor stairway walk. We walked to the top where we encountered a lone drummer, people practicing tightrope walking, and a howling dog that sounded human (and very sad). Then we descended the 282 step staircase. At the bottom we found that someone had cruelly written in chalk, “Only a few more steps to the top” which I, of course, thought was kinda hilarious so had to snap a picture.
