We just got back from a little trip to the Coast. We went to the Long Beach Peninsula in the corner of Washington State. This was taken on a drive up to Leadbetter Point. We have seen this house before but the cows next to it were just too good to resist. I had to snap this from the car since there was nowhere to park and get out.

I thought that for today’s 365 project photo, a self portrait was in order. I haven’t taken one in awhile so there.
So. Another year. A few more wrinkles. A few new gray hairs. But still feeling pretty young, despite getting hit by a car 🙂
My big brother reminded me the other day that this is the last year of my thirties. I’ve been pondering this the past few days. And kind of tripping on it, too. A little tempted to get depressed by it. But not giving in to that temptation. I think about my thirties and all I have accomplished in this decade and I have to say I have no regrets. So far, my thirties have been the best years of my life. And they will continue to be. Until my forties, that is.

Today for Crafty Monday I give you the Tree Jacket! I fell in love with this patten when Lolly was contemplating it on either her blog or photo stream. Like the other Zephyr Style pattern, Rusted Root, I downloaded it immediately. I knitted it with Patons Classic Merino. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the same dyelot for all of my balls of yarns, and you can totally tell in the photo. It’s not so noticeable in real life, though. I almost gave up when I realized the colors didn’t match, but decided to just go with it. Whatev. You know? It’s just a sweater. I do love this sweater, too. It is very comfortable. It’s nice and roomy. It kind of feels like a comfy sweatshirt. I definitely will wear it often. Here is my Ravelry page if you want the details. So to sum up, I love it! The pattern is highly recommended! -

stuff I'm spinning .
I kind of have been lagging in my blogging this week. It’s been a long week. And it’s not over because I work tomorrow! Sigh. But I’m on vacay next week. I definitely need it.Here is a photograph of some “lace-weight” yarn that I’m spinning up out of some shiny acrylic roving that I bought a couple of months ago. I’m not a big fan of acrylic but this was really pretty so, why not.
Happy Friday everyone!

Crafty Monday was sidelined last week. So we have a double header this time. To the left is a picture of my Victorian Lace Today scarf that I had been working on forever. It’s official title is “scarf or shawl with center panel.” It is one of the beginner projects in the book. It’s quite easy! I can vouch for that. In fact, it got a little boring to knit and I kept getting distracted with other projects. But it’s done. And I really like it! I will probably wear it a lot since I wear a lot of black. Here is the Ravelry info if you’re interested. On the getting-well front: I’m doing well. I went to the doctor and everything checks out O.K. I’m still sore and it’s going to be awhile before I’m back running again, but I’ll just ease back into it. Like I always do.
Take care, everyone! have a great week.
