Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

  • this weather officially sux

    December 9, 2005

On my “My Yahoo” page I still subscribe to the weather for San Jose and Santa Cruz, in addition to Spokane. I looked at the weather report yesterday and it was so sad. Santa Cruz and San Jose are listed first. they had a lows in the mid forties and highs in the mid sixties. Spokane? A low of 4 and a high of 15. Can you believe that? 4. That is f – ing cold.

On the way to the bus today I slipped on the ice and landed flat on my back. my arm and back still ache from it. If it wasn’t for my Timbuktu messenger bag breaking my fall I would have broken my tailbone.

  • meme

    December 7, 2005

Dianne from Daffodil Lane posted a meme on her site that I thought would be kind of fun to do.

    here are the rules:
    1. Copy and paste the 5th sentence of your 23rd blog entry.
    2. Explain it.
    3. Challenge 5 friends to do the same.

The 23rd post (or the post with an assigned ID of 23) is called waiting. There is no 5th sentence, so I will just post the last sentence of the 4 sentence post.

Then on Sunday we have to go to Joaquin?s wedding in Las vegas.

Ahhh..my graduation weekend. This was a memorable weekend, indeed. It was memorial day weekend, 2003. My mom and step-dad came down to attend the graduation on Saturday. I think they arrived very, very early Friday morning. Friday I took them to Pebble Beach, and then we had a bonfire on the beach (sigh). Saturday we got up, went out to breakfast, then went to my graduation in San Jose. That evening my mom and I went to Fisherman’s Wharf in Santa Cruz to shop and eat clam strips. Then first thing in the morning Sunday mom and doug left to drive the 16 hours back to Spokane and Raf and I got on a plane to attend his brothers wedding in Las Vegas later on that day. It was the busiest weekend of my entire life. I dont’ even know how I got through it because I am very, very low key and am a serious homebody.

I think there are, like, five people who read this blog and actually have blogs, and two of them have already done this. So if you are reading this and you have a blog and you feel like doing this, go for it!

  • Recalled

    December 6, 2005

It was reported on the local news a few hours ago that Mayor West has been recalled. Remember that controversy a few months ago?

I work for the city so I don’t think I should comment on it. But, well, there it is. We’ll see what happens with the city. I hope it’s a move in the right direction.

  • car update

    December 6, 2005

Actually, there is nothing to report. Which kind of worries me. The accident happened a week ago and I still don’t know what they are going to do with my car. The insurance adjustor for my insurance company looked at it on Thursday, so I would think that they would know by now if they are going to fix it or total it. And everyone that I’ve talked to who have been in similar situations have said that they knew within 24 hours if thier car was going to be fixed or totalled. So I’m getting worried. I don’t even know where my car is right now.

I am beginning to get the impression that my insurance company sucks.

  • cabin fever begins to creep in

cabin fever begins to creep in

    December 5, 2005

I have been wanting to capture the amount of ice that is hanging on the bush and house outside of my living room window. It is totally unbelievable. I feel like our house is being swallowed by ice. As I was taking these pictures I realized that cabin fever is already kind of setting in. Not good. We need to get out and do things outside. I want to take Raf sledding, and I want to make a snowman among other things. But the problem is we don’t have any snow gear, like snow boots and long johns, and maybe some snowpants. I ordered some and am waiting for them to arrive. In the meantime, the cold and ice are keeping us in.
