Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

Okay, I admit it. I am a fan of Madonna. I downloaded her recent album, Confessions on a Dance floor, the other day and I LOVE IT. I downloaded the deluxe version with the video of “Hung Up” included. I love the video. Dude. and she is almost 50 now? amazing.

I was just seaming a sweater and listening to the album and tears came to my eyes, for some reason. There is something tragic about the songs on the album. I don’t know what it is about it. It’s good, but slightly tragic and sad. Maybe it’s because of where I’m at right now, living in Spokane, in this freezing weather, stuck inside, missing Sunny California, and feeling kind of sad. But the album, while I love it, kind of has, and will probably always have for me, a kind of sad vibe to it.

  • Liberty

2005-2007 Jeep Liberty photographed in College...
    Image via Wikipedia

I bought a car today! I am now a card-carrying member of the asshole, South Hill, SUVclass. Ugh! can you believe I did it? I feel a little guilty. I bought a Jeep Liberty. For some reason, I don’t really consider Jeeps SUVs. But maybe that’s just me trying to justify it. Oh well.

It’s 4×4 so it gets around really good in this snow and ice, which is what I wanted and needed. And we will be able to drive it up in the mountains this summer, as well.

Now I can exhale. I have a car again! yay!

  • The Library Lady

    December 15, 2005

Yesterday I was rushing through the bus station to catch my connection and I saw a group of preschool kids in a row that I thought might be a group that comes to my story time at the library. As I was rushing past them I heard, “Hey, I think that’s the library lady..Is that the library lady? Yeah, it is! That’s the library lady, guys!” I couldn’t help but smile as I was running out the door of the building to catch my bus.

  • The string of bad luck continues

    December 13, 2005

Wow. this is turning out to be one hell of a month. I just found out this morning that my Mom and Stepdad’s van was stolen last night. It was hotwired or something. ugh! I hope that the police can find it for them. It sounds like it was some kids taking it for a joyride. The sucky part about all of this is that they moved to that house to get out of the “bad” neighboorhood. When I helped them move in last summer and talked to the previous owner he said that it was a super-safe neighboorhood. That they didn’t have so much as a bike stolen from their property. AND there is a cop that lives next door!

The horrible luck! Nothing like this ever happened when they were living on the “Bad” side of town.
