• Here is a picture of my dad and his wife, Val when we were at dinner near Fisherman’s Wharf. I think this is such a great picture of them. You would never guess that they got up at 3am to catch the plane 🙂 .

I don’t know if you can see it but the waiter’s shirt says “Itchin’ for crabs.” Good Lord. I didn’t notice that shirt at the time.

I haven’t been very good at posting a photo a day for the past few months 😦 . I think I will get back into it again now that I have installed this awesome WordPress Plugin called Photopress.

This is probably one of the strangest things that has happened to me. If anyone out there in blogland knows anything about dream interpretation, have at it. I’m stumped.

This morning I had a really strange dream. It was right as I was waking up and it took me forever to get out of bed. I’ve been really groggy all morning, too. It was one of those awful anxiety dreams. My mom e-mailed me this morning, telling me about things going on with her today, so I replied and decided to tell her about my dream. Here is my e-mail to her:

I’m not feeling very well today. I had a horrible dream this morning right as I was waking up. I dreamt that my car got stolen and then when I called 911 and the officer asked what my license plate number was I couldn’t find the number on my palm pilot and I didn’t have the number memorized and I just kept looking and looking. To make things worse, there was someone waiting to use the pay phone I was using so I felt pressure to hurry up and give the information. It was one of those awful anxiety dreams.

Some things that I didn’t add to my e-mail:

    • I was in an unfamiliar neighboorhood
    • I was by myself
    • It was getting dark out by the time I got to where I had parked my car
    • I was walking from some kind of institution, like a school

Okay, so my mom writes me back:

This is very weird. I had a similar dream last Saturday night, actually it was Sunday morning right before I woke up. I dreamt that my car got stolen, I was parked at some school setting, it was kind of an institution-like setting. I left the building to go to the parking lot and I couldn’t find my car. I am always loosing my car in parking lots, so I didn’t think anything about it. I wandered all around the parking lot, then remembered that there was a parking lot on the side of this instution, I wandered all over around it, it was beginning to get dark, and I still couldn’t find my car. I then went to a back parking lot, behind the building. It was almost empty, but there were a few cars way off in the distance, I thought that surely my car was down there. I walked and walked, it was getting darker and darker, there were three cars parked, but mine wasen’t one of them. I then went back inside the building, walked though what seemed to be a gymnasium setting, as there were echos around me when I walked, there was no one inside, went into an office area and reported that my car had been stolen. No one assisted me and so I tried to call 911 on my cell phone. My cell phone would not work, and seemed to be broken. A mexican looking man gave me a phone to use, it was an old fashioned phone like from the fifties. I called 911 and spoke to an officer, he asked me for my license plate number, and I didn’t know it, so I tried to call Pat for help, and couldn’t get in touch with him. I think I woke up then. It was very strange. I used to dream that my jeep got stolen when I had it. I wonder how some one would interperet a dream like that. It definetelly has something to do with stress.

WTF?!? My mom and I had the same dream! This has got to mean something…

  • Moleskine notebook.

Recently I switched from using a Palm to using a paper planner. It was a difficult move, but one that I don’t regret. The ironic thing about it is that I was the queen Palm user. I would sing it’s praises any chance I could. I even converted several coworkers to the Palm platform. I loved it. I had a portable keyboard (that I spent a hundred bucks on), and had installed Docs to Go and would type notes from meetings into the portable Word program, and then sync it up with my computer. I thought I was being all organized.

Then my keyboard stopped working. Some of the keys on the right wouldn’t work when I punched them. I would press as hard as I could to no avail. I mean, the backspace key wouldn’t even work! It became very distracting for me in meetings because I would be more concerned about my system falling apart then what was being talked about at the meeting.

Another big problem was my inablilty to stay organized and focused. No matter how much I posted in my to-do list I could not seem to take the time to turn on my palm and check it. It also became a hassle putting in appointments and most of the time I would accidently enter the wrong day or time.

So I decided to try a paper calendar. I went with the Un-Calendar first. I really liked it. It helped me to stay organized very well. They only problem I had was that I would get too lazy to enter the months and dates in (The un-calendar is blank when you buy it and you fill in the dates as you go). But, all in all, a great calendar system.

However, at the begining of the year, I bought a moleskine desk calendar (Amanda from etc. tempted me with her shiny new one). How could I not? It’s “the legendary notebook of Van Gogh, Chatwin, Hemingway, Matisse and Céline.” Who knows, maybe some of thier brilliance will rub off on me ;). I love it. I love it so much better then the palm. There’s lots of room on the page for to-do lists, meeting notes, and to scratch a word or two about what a horrible (or good) day I’ve had. I’m not a doodler, but it’s perfect for scratching out drawings. I regret getting the larger sized one. I wish I had gotten the tiny pocket sized notebook. But oh well. There’s always next year.

There’s a blog devoted to Moleskines and how people use them here, if your interested in that sort of thing.

On that note, surfing around on the web, I found the DIY planner.
    The website states:

The D*I*Y Planner is a set of free do-it-yourself templates, covers, documentation and other gear for creating your own highly customised and tweakable paper planner system.

Interesting….I will have to investigate this further. But in the meantime, I will stick with my Moleskine.

  • And Please DO NOT comment anymore on Teri Shiavo. I’m done talking about it.
Don’t post a comment here calling me ignorant. That doesn’t fly. It’s just rude. Just because you disagree with me it doesn’t mean I am ignorant. It means you disagree with me. I refer you to my rules. PLEASE READ THEM BEFORE YOU POST. If you want to discuss issues, please be polite about it. Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so.

  • Well, the site has been moved. Had a bit of rockiness there for a couple of days but everything turned out okay. Let’s hope all stays well.

There were a few comments that were posted on the Teri Schiavo case that weren’t there when I downloaded my database files, so I just went ahead and entered the info in by hand since I have copies of all of my comments via e-mail. They may not be in the order entered.

I’ve been re-reading some of my replies and posts regarding this issue. My, I’ve been rather cranky these past few weeks, haven’t I? This issue stirred something up in me and I aplogize if I’ve said anything offensive. Well, except for that guy who wanted to “pull the plug” on me. That guy deserved my rant.

I’m kind of surprised at all of the comments I’ve recieved. I’m not sure how you all are finding my site, or even if you are reading this now, but thanks for visiting and leaving your 2cents. I do appreciate your opinion. I might vehemently disagree, but we are all entitled to our opinion.

Teri Schiavo has passed on. I am glad that she has moved on to a better place. We should all be happy about that. This is what she wanted, and I am glad that her wishes were finally respected in the end. Because that, really is what matters.

I mentioned this in the comment section but I will repeat it here. I think the real issue here is that Congress got involved. They overstepped thier boundaries. That is very scary. This cannot happen again.
