A secret document obtained from inside Bush campaign headquarters in Florida suggests a plan – possibly in violation of US law – to disrupt voting in the state’s African-American voting districts, a BBC Newsnight investigation reveals.
How is Bush still president? Why is he not impeached yet? That is what I want to know. This is outragous! If he is re-elected I think we should, seriously, call for his impeachment.

This is wild! I really had no idea that this was happening in little ‘ole Spokane!
I was sitting in the staff lounge, reading the latest discarded copy of Time Magazine (Oct. 18th) and I happened across a gigantic article (with pictures and everything!) about how Spokane has installed a WiFi zone that covers all of downtown. They hacked it together during Hoopfest, and then just left it on. People started using it more and more and now it has become really quite big. For example, emergency responders are using it, like Firefighters download floorplans to buildings when they are responding to a fire. There’s a picture of a student using her laptop at Riverfront park to access the internet. Very cool.

Who’dve thought my little po-dunk hometown would be so high-tech? I guess I’ve been wrong about Spokane all these years.

Yahoo! News – Video: Abducted Aid Worker Pleads for Life
Margaret Hassan, the kidnapped director of CARE International in Iraq (news – web sites), wept and pleaded for Britain to act to save her life in a video aired Friday. “Please help me. This might be my last hours,” the gaunt Hassan begged, shaking with fear and burying her face in a tissue.
I’ve been extremely distressed by this all morning. I heard about the video on the morning hews and they played the part of the video where she saying “these might be my last hours.” Ever since I heard this I’ve had a stomachache. I don’t even know what to say about it. Except that I hope this stops very soon. I am so tired of watching innocent people getting beheaded. It is damn disturbing. Those poor people. This poor woman..What she must be going through. I can’t imagine. It’s truly a nightmare. I hope that she survives this. I hope they take pity on her because she is a woman and she has been helping the Iraqi people and is a citizen of Iraq. May God help her.

Had John Kerry been given the opportunity in the last presidential debate to speak glowingly about the first two traits, Mary Cheney‘s parents, Dick and Lynne Cheney, would have been pleased and thankful.
But Kerry warmly and supportively mentioned the third fact. And the parents are now “indignant,” “angry” and “appalled.” They say they are mad because Kerry cynically has brought their daughter into the political debate.
Never mind that they have done so themselves on several occasions to appease moderates who fear Bush might be a wild-eyed gay basher.
What has really upset the Cheneys is not the political motivations behind Kerry’s words, but that he has called them on their hypocrisy. They are now being forced to reconcile their support of their daughter’s sexuality with Bush’s ugly attempts to gain the votes of people who do not share that support.
This is an excellent opinion piece on this ridiculous situation. It really boils down to the fact that the Cheneys are mad because Kerry pointed out the obvious, their hypocrisy. And now they have manufactured this outrage against Kerry because he. . .what exactly did he do? Out thier daughter? no. Mary Cheney is openly gay. Dick Cheney has talked about it openly. In fact, he thanked Edwards for “his kind words” when Edwards made similar comments during the vice-presidential debate. Frankly, I can’t believe this is still in the news. Can we move on? Lynne and Dick, you are hypocrites. Everyone know it. It’s obvious. Get over it.
