The New York Times > Opinion > Editorial: A Blow to the Rule of Law

Republicans have traditionally championed respect for the delicate balance the founders created. But in the Schiavo case, and in the battle to stop the Democratic filibusters of judicial nominations, President Bush and his Congressional allies have begun to enunciate a new principle: the rules of government are worth respecting only if they produce the result we want. It may be a formula for short-term political success, but it is no way to preserve and protect a great republic.

This is an excellent opinion piece in the NYT. What Bush and his Repug minions in Congress did is utterly dispicable. It’s un-American.

Thank God the federal Judge didn’t bow to the Bush administration in this case! Thank God there are still people in this country who believe in democracy. This is not a fucking dictatorship Mr. Bush. Thank God this is still a democracy.

My living will now concludes with the following statement:

“For GOD’S SAKE, do not allow me to become ‘a great political issue’ to cynical, immoral Republicans!”

Amen!! The level of hypocrisy that we are seeing right now is staggering. I can’t wait until I have another chance to vote against these worthless bastards.

DeLay is pretty much one of the most evil monsters in the Republican party. It warms my heart that when he and the Republican made the illegal redistricting of Texas to eliminate Democratic districts, that he diluted the Republican districts down to the point that they are all in danger of losing their seats. And as more of his criminal behavior becomes the topic of discussion, it’s all becoming harder for them to function.

Buh-bye to Republicans at mid-term. The stepped in ti twice now…Social Security and now, Terri Schiavo. Dimantling the New Deal and and the Constitution all in the same month. Quite an achievement.

Given how disconnected their brainless followers are from reality, I don’t know that it changes much for them. Hopefully it will give the right leaning independents a moment of pause, they’ve been sweep up in the mob mentality that the Republicans have been using for the last couple of years.

I feel sorry for all of you. You have no values, or morals. It is a shame that there will be no afterlife for you. Repulicans are at least trying to do the right thing by God. All of you are probably Homosexual. (I’m right)

Oh, crap, Gianna, I guess you’ll have to tell that to my wife of nearly 15 years and my 3 children. Is a “Repulican” the bastard child of a Nazi and a pelican?

And btw: is that how it works with your god…afterlife only for the hateful?
