CNN.com – Ousted church members ponder next move – May 7, 2005

A pastor who led a charge to kick out nine church members who refused to support President Bush was the talk of the town Saturday in this mountain hamlet, with ousted congregants considering hiring a lawyer.

I meant to blog about this the other day because it made me so mad. Thanks, Christie, for mentioning it. This is in the same vein as the Bush fish a couple of posts down. And some people think we don’t live in a theocracy?!? It’s scarily looking like it’s getting closer and closer to that. If this church does NOT pay for this legally, then it will become quite apparent that we are moving scarily close to a theocracy. I mean, think about it. If these people don’t side with Bush, they can’t be a part of the church. It’s wrong. And the fact that I am sitting here writing “this is wrong” is just craziness. I shouldn’t have to say that. It should be obvious to all Americans that this should not be happening in this country.

What right does this Pastor have knowing who his congregation voted for? I bet if it were a Democratic Pastor, the Right would have called for his excommunication.

I’m watching World News Tonight right now, that pastor [from NC] resigned last night. I still think he should be excommunicated.

The fact that you have to point it out to these clueless idiots is wrong, but the sad fact of the matter is that if it doesn’t fall into their “Bush is God” world view then they just won’t listen. It’s more than sad, it’s appalling.
