The Santa Clara online – Police arrest student after bomb threats
Authorities arrested Bautista on five counts of threatening with intent to terrorize. Charges had not been brought forward by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office Wednesday.
So SCU had several Bomb threats that emanated from the library last week. The police and IT took a couple of computers from the Reference room that they determined were used when the student e-mailed in the threats. Also, there were several typed notes found in various places in the library, as well. It was really kind of scary, but not that uncommon. Bomb threats have happened a few times before in the five years that I’ve been here.
I heard that they caught the guy and I was curious about how they did that, who the person was, and why he did it. Well, I was walking through the student union a little while ago and caught a glimpse of the student newspaper. I noticed that there was an article in there about the ordeal so I grabbed one. I looked at the picture of the suspect and nearly died! This is a kid that I have helped out a few times! I think he was in one of my Biology library instruction classes. And I think he also came to my office for research help, too. He seemed like a really nice kid! He did have a strange vibe about him, but nice, nonetheless.
I am so glad that I was friendly to him! man..I could have been in a bitchy mood..thank god I wasn’t. Makes you think a little bit, about the way you act toward others and how they might react…
