how can this be?

CNN.com – New Orleans evacuations under way – Aug 31, 2005

“We are gravely concerned about the potential for cholera, typhoid and dehydrating diseases,” Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said.

I’ve been trying to keep up with the news about New Orleans today, and it seems that everytime I looked, the news is worse. Thousands of people dead?!? How can this be? And how, in this day and age, do we have all of these people getting typhoid? This devestation is so unbelievable! I am so saddened by this. New Orleans. Will it ever be the same after this?

  1. Condi Rice went shoe shopping today, I wonder if her relatives were planted to hug the president in New Orleans, I noticed that there were no other people in the background as he shook hands, and hugged with the few today on the national news broadasts. His sleeves rolled up and looking so studly. I heard an interview with the mayor of New Orleans today on my way home from work. He cried, I cried, in my car, on my way home from work. He pleaded for help for the people of New Orleans. He said God is watching this. The people who let these people die will pay. He made a prediction, I believe that it will come true. What goes around, comes around, Karma you know. I truly believe this in my heart. Things just happen to bad people. This tragedy was caused by a #4 hurricane. It barely missed New Orleans, and there was relief for a moment, but the water that came into the city was caused buy the levies breaking. George Bush with his own hands signed the bill to cut funding to fix the problems that were occurring in these levies. He sent the money to support his “war”. George Bush with his own hand signed the bill that ended the protection that Bill Clinton had given to the wetlands of our country. The wetlands that protected the city of New Orleans. Those wetlands, the Mississippi Delta, have been dried up and used by developers. Those trees, and bushes protected the city for over a hundred years. Any person in this country who thinks George Bush is a good leader is stupid. I predict that George Bush will go down in history as the most hated president of all time.
Mark my words, the sh– is going to hit the fan, so to speak, and when it does, the good will prevail and the evil will pay.
Thank you for reading this and thank you for letting me vent.js

  3. Mom, I couldn’t agree more. Anyone who thinks Bush is a good leader now is utterly blind. This is not a partisan issue. This is a human issue. Human beings are dying in New Orleans because of Bush’s failure to lead our country. I’m pissed. I just get more and more mad each day.
