When we first moved to Spokane my husband couldn’t believe that it got so cold here that this pond would freeze over. And look. It’s frozen over. I think this pond is even ice skated if the ice gets thick enough.
Right after I took this all of the ducks on the other side of the pond started flying over to us, probably looking for bread (this is why it is bad to feed the ducks, people!). It was actually kind of freaky. Like something out of The Birds. And if you’ve been reading this blog for awhile you know that I have a slight aversion to birds, thanks to the nasty magpies that like to swoop down on people in the Monterey Bay area.
I took this pre accident, a couple of days before the real snowstorm. It’s kind of been snowing every day since Tuesday, so now the ground is really, really covered. It’s actually really beautiful, despite the treacherous conditions. I will take pictures of the pretty neighboorhood.
Will also update you on what happens with my car. I’m feeling less shaken-up than I was. Been taking the bus the past couple of days and actually really like it. Thanks again for all of your comments. 🙂
