The Republican-controlled legislature of South Dakota’s sweeping new law banning abortion in the conservative state also protects rapists’ rights. Now, men who impregnate girls or women against their will – even fathers who rape their daughters – are almost guaranteed to become dads.

I’ve been freaking out the past few days over South Dakota’s abortion ban. I seriously can’t beleive this is happening. They have banned all abortion in that state, even if the woman or child has been raped. RAPED! This is totally inhumane! I am enraged!

I was talking this over with my husband the other night and he and I just came to the sickening realization that Roe Vs. Wade will be overturned. It’s going to be over-fucking-turned. Un-freaking-believable.

Read an interesting article about it here.

Sometimes it’s hard not to just sit in awe and say ‘wow. what year is this?’

as my fiance says, the religious right only care about the dead or dying – once your here – your a sinner and there’s nothing they can do about that.

he also says “the religious right is neither – religious or right”

If you want to get totally enraged watch this little clip on Crooks and Liars. Notice that their “might” be an exemption if the woman that was raped was a virgin and a devote Christian. Just the tone of the legislator says it all. Republicans hate women so much they can’t stand it. The only “good” news is that the Supreme Court is likely to split 5-4 in favor of upholding Roe. So they are really just blowing smoke to get their radical base out to the polls for the 2006 election. And there are like 10 other Red States putting exactly the same kind of laws in place as we speak. Hopefully it will start motivating young women who don’t think politics matters in their lives. Because a lot of these groups are working on birth control next.
