Experimenting

I’m a lazy photographer. In fact, I feel like a poser sometimes when it comes to photography. I have taken several classes through the years but I have never really been able to wrap my head around the technical aspects of picture-taking. So I just use the auto settings on my camera. I know. Totally lame.

Well, being on Flickr and seeing everyone’s beautiful pictures has inspired me to get a little more serious. Last night Raf and I went to a local High School and played around with night photography and we had so much fun! This was the first time I have ever used the manual settings on my camera and it was good to have someone there to bounce ideas off of. I’m so glad he is interested in this, too because he is very good at technical stuff so he will help me grasp all of this.

I am happy to see you mention this, as it is something I have been interested in as well. Looks like you are off to a great start! I recently saw a short profile on the official National Parks photographer, and he was speaking about the night photography in DC specifically with all of the national monuments and museums. SO fascinating!

    Happy weekend, Moni 🙂

Nice picture! I just use the auto settings and hope for the best. Since my brother is a photographer, I thought I could pick his brain, but photographer speak seems more complicated than I thought!

Here’s a compliment for the Spokane Public Library that I saw on another blog:
