A young man came up to the reference desk today and asked to use the phone. He was around 12 or 13. He had some trouble dialing the number and had to give it about 3 tries. On the 4th try he whispered aloud, “where’s the send key! there’s no send key!” but then he got it figured out (probably when the ringing started on the other end).
I just thought this was very interesting.
