I read that Alexis Cohen, a young contestant from American Idol died over the weekend while crossing the street. Given past events, stories like this catch my eye. I didn’t know who she was (because I don’t watch the show) but the story mentioned that a video of her rant after being turned down went viral. Of course I looked for it and watched it. Gosh. Now I’m kinda sad. What a girl. (it looks like this is being investigated as a homicide. Yikes!)

Why do people care what kind of jeans Obama wears? seriously. What a stupid news story. And is anyone else kind of offended by the term “Mom jeans?” I am so beyond done with low-riding, ass-crack-viewing, tight enough to show everything, pants. Let’s bring back the high waists! It’s the classic Kate Hepburn look. If it’s good enough for Kate it’s good enough for me!

It never fails to astound me when I hear about teh crazy out there on the old internets. I don’t know why I’m always surprised. Maybe I’m just naive, I don’t know. This time someone is harassing the Yarn Harlot. Can you believe that? She’s the knitting world sweetheart. Absolutely the most benign blogger I’ve ever read. A fantastic writer, but so not offensive in any way, shape or form. Seriously, if it can happen to her it can happen to anyone. That’s kind of frightening.
