Heard on Days of Our Lives just now:
“This is about me proposing to Chloe’s ashes at the memorial isn’t it?”
Folks, this is why I watch this show. It doesn’t get funnier than that.

Hmmm…I’ve been remiss in putting up my photos this week. Here is a pic of the jungle in my backyard. Let’s call this a “before” picture. I’m going to dedicate lots of time cleaning it up. It has gotten waaaay out of control this winter. It’s rained every weekend and I haven’t been able to get out there (that’s my excuse, anyway). Also, I’m kind of burned out on gardening. When I moved here I was all into it. I bought books. I bought plants. I bought all kinds of crap. I would go out there and garden until my back hurt. And it looked nice for awhile. But, see, in California gardening season NEVER ENDS. It goes on and on and on. And eventually I just burned the fuck out. So now we have “the jungle.” My goal is to get it cleaned up a bit. We’ll see how that all turns out.
I’m listening to an excellent book at the moment called Feed by MT Anderson. It takes place in the future and is narrated by a teenager who comes from an upper-middle class background. In the future, people are connected to “the feed,” which is kind of a hyped-up morphing of the internet and television. The feed is implanted inside you brain, however, and it becomes a part of your limbic system. It’s basically a biting satire of what our consumeristic society will become if we continue placing value on material things.
Of course I love it so far. I think I loved it two sentences in. The reader of the audible version is excellent and I think listening to this book is the way to go, rather than reading it. I will write more about it when I am done listening to it.

My Dad and his wife were in San Francisco on Good Friday and I went up there to spend the day with them. We went to Fisherman’s Wharf where the seals like to hang out.
