Foolish gibberish

  • AboutI am also known as CraftyMoni elsewhere on the web. I am a Children’s Librarian. I am a photographer. I am a knitter. I am a reader. I am a wannabe poet. I blog. Sometimes I complain. I like to swear. I have a really twisted sense of humor. I think I might be a Zen Buddhist (Still trying to decide). Not a fan of organized religion. I am very liberal and can be vocal about it at times. I’m a daydreamer. Sometimes sassy. I try to be compassionate. I think I’m pretty nice most of the time. You can delve into deeper waters by reading these posts. You can see my photography on my Flickr page. If you like any photos you see there or on this site and would like to buy a print let me know. I would be happy to sell one to you! I blather about library stuff on  Twitter. You will also find me on Google+ and Facebook. Enjoy your visit!

    Sandy in Panorama

    April 4, 2016

In February I bought a camera from a Facebook friend: an Ansco Pix Panorama. I am not sure exactly what possessed me to buy it because I have been telling myself to hold off on adding more things to my possessions, and I’d never even heard of this camera before. But G.A.S. won that battle and it ended up mine. I’m really glad it did because it turns out, this is a really fun little camera! It’s very lightweight and easy to carry everywhere. And the panoramas it produces are fun and different. A new challenge for me. And apparently there are a number of hacks that can be done to this camera because it is easy to disassemble, so that will also be a fun challenge.

Here are some shots around town during my lunch break.

Travel Sketchbook – Pinhole And Pinhole Accessories

    April 3, 2016

Here is another drawing from my travel sketchbook. For this trip I am going to bring only one pinhole camera: my trusty Terrapin Bijou. The size is perfect for travel and I love the economy of 6 x 4.5. I am honestly probably bringing too much film with me. I am doubting I will go through all of those rolls. But you never know!

I am very excited about that quick release thing that you see in the drawing. It means I can shoot landscape on my mini tripod!

    bloody walls

    April 1, 2016

Today’s photo blog post is the result of a fun adventure from the end of last year. My husband and I stumbled upon a park we hadn’t seen before. As we walked around we found an abandoned school yard. We peeked through windows and this was the scene we witnessed through one of them! I happened to have my pinhole camera with me so of course I pinholed that. Since this was taken over Thanksgiving weekend I presumed it was the result of a haunted house. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway…

  • Just an old, sweet song

    Just an old, sweet song

    March 31, 2016

On my walk home from work last night “Georgia On My Mind” played on the iTunes. I love this song, in all of it’s versions. But my favorite is Willie Nelson’s version. This was my stepdfather’s favorite song and when I hear it I think of him.

This song, for me, evokes twilight on a warm Summer evening. So let this be my submission for this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge: Half Light. Here is a photo of last night’s sunset.
