As I mentioned, I took a 3 day break from the internet so I could spend time with my mom while she was here. It was awesome! I was ridiculously productive! I cleaned my entire house (this really only happens when I have visitors), I went through boxes my mom brought with her (more on that in a minute), I did some writing, I mixed c-41 chemicals, I developed film, I scanned film, I went for a walk in the words, and I hung out and had fun with my mom and her husband.
Those moments when there is downtime are the hardest at first. For example, when I was waiting for my mom to arrive I normally would spend time scrolling through one of my many social media feeds, but instead I wrote a poem. 🙂
Here are some photos

an old pantry
My mom brought old boxes we have been storing there and I went through them. it was literally a time capsule and weird to be reacquainted with stuff from years and years ago.
The U2 album was one of the first ones I purchased myself. Listening to it really brought be back to High School!
Seeing these felt like a big punch in the gut. sigh.
I developed film!!
And wrote some emo poetry with MagPo
Great weekend! I am totally going to be doing this again, at least once a month. I feel so much better and it was nice to accomplish so much.
Zero 4×5 and Ektar 100 (Graflex ’23’ back) @ 9 seconds.
Zero 2000 + Ektar 100 @ 1 second
Zero 200 + Ektar 100 @ 1 second.
I have a series of pinhole photos from a place called Blue Lake. It’s a pleasant little park in Fairview, not far from where we live. We like to visit there when we want a mellow walk.
This particular photo was taken with my Zero 2000. Ektar 100 was used. The exposure time was 1 second.
On my calendar I have that I am going to do 72 hours of “Tech Detox” starting at midnight tonight and ending Monday at midnight. I’ve decided to schedule these once a month. I still want to make sure I keep to my “100 days” commitment, so if I can get my act together, I will try to think of some blog posts to schedule over the next three days. They may be posts of Blue Lake photos!
I think for this I am supposed to hide my phone somewhere and not look at it for three days. haha. We’ll see how I do. My mom is visiting so I will have stuff to do. Also, it might be a good opportunity to use one of my film cameras for photos, rather than my iPhone.
I’m sure I will have lots to say about this on Tuesday.
See you on the other side!
